Epic Quest Alpha
<Thraxis> "For future knowledge, those were a winter wight and a lava wight"
<Thraxis> "vile creaures those undead"
<LostPassWordDoesNotWork> "Why were they chasing you?"
<Aundrea> "better question, why did you bring them TO A TOWN FULL OF PEOPLE!"
<Thraxis> "to both questions, the answer is simple: I needed to find you five"
<Aundrea> "SO YOU LED 2 VERY DANGEROUS CREATURES RIGHT INTO THE TOWN? YOU IDIOT!"
<Thraxis> "what fool do you take me for? What is a mere village when the entire cosmology is at stake?"
<LostPassWordDoesNotWork> "Well, the world don't revole around you, those thigns don't stand a chance in the material
plan of taking anythign over."
<Thraxis> "They were mere servants, barely recognizable on the scale of power"
<Thraxis> "And those things could quite easily have destroyed this entire town if it were not for you five..."
<Thraxis> "please, the great god Melchior will break free unless you stop the dark wizard Peranel!"
<Thraxis> "Melchior is the god of obliteration and absolute destruction and madness"
<Thraxis> "Melchior sees beauty only in the twisted chaos of the Far Realm, the entire rest of existance, as well as
everything existing in existance, he seeks to destroy"
<Thraxis> "he wishes to unravel the very fabric of the universe!"
<Thraxis> "*ahem* anyway, aeons ago, Melchior was sealed within a great magical trap, a zone of abjuration so
powerful, the outlands seem like a magical nexus by comparison. There is no way in or out of the demiplane he is
sealed in, at least not on his side..."
<Thraxis> "Melchior's power, which dwarfs that of even Mortissinian the Every, was defeated long ago by all teh gods,
and many beings far older and more powerful than have every existed for a thousand generations"
<Aundrea> "ofcourse theres no way in on his side since he's [u]already[u/] in
<Thraxis> "dear lady, what taht means is he cannot allow minions into his plane, just as he cannot allow himself out either"
<Thraxis> "I know not of this Peoharen, but the power of Melchior is so vast, that even in magic designed to casually rob
the very gods of all power, he still manages to send out maddening whispers, promises of untold power, and work foul
suggestions bent on releasing himself. Most are harmless cults, easily put down by our forces, and of little potential for
actually freeing anyone. Every so often, though, a mortal stumbles across
<Thraxis> an artifact planted by Melchior of his own strength. Only the most insane and powerful can use these artifacts, but
the power is such to be able to rupture planar boundries"
<Thraxis> "Peranel is just such a wizard, a dark, desperate creature consumed with teh quest to release Melchior,
unaware that to release Melchior is to destroy himself as well as the rest of the cosmology, for Melchior will not spare any
creature not native of the far realm, even though his maddening whispers say otherwise..."
