Pick one from #s, and one form the abcs.
What do you like in games?
What do the choices mean?
The #s are play style...
Just like me smash monsters.
Mostly, you just like combat.
Traps & riddles baby.
Dungeons, traps, exploration, stuff that you get to think on for the answer is what you like.
Can't we just talk instead?
You're in it for the RP element more than anything else.
I'm addicted to rolling dice, I don't care why.
You just like to game for none of the listed reasons from above, maybe the friend element is what you like, or just playing a game, who knows.
All the above.
You like D&D because you can combine all the above into a single game.
... while the letters are for challenge level.
I like an easy win.
You like the game to be easy, like (I'm so pointing to Tranc on this one ) using PB 56, gestalting, and spending almost twice the amount of wealth you should have.
Challenge me! (some)
If the party is missing a rogue, toss some traps in, I'd love to find out a way to use my abilities in yet another useful way.
I love the illusion of an unbeatable game.
You want those traps you have to take 20 on, or fighting shadows hiding in walls. A Balor sounds like fun you to. Of course, you like that last minute luckyness that seems to happen too.
Don't hold back, try to PK me, I love it!
As above, but no luckyness. If a Balor has the time to summon another Balor to spam blasphemy, you probably failed at your goal already.
After picking your choices, post and explain why.

None of the Above
For me, DnD is about playing a different person than myself, or quite often, play a different part of myself. The ability to go CE on someone's behind (often the NPC's) is an exhilerating release from the inhibitions of modern culture. The ability to use supernatural or merely extraordinary means to do fantastic feats of courage or cowardice, generosity or cruelty, the ability to become a different person entirely than teh mostly quiet (which I ironically am ofline) person I am. Rules can be bent and broken, and the reprucussions that follow are easily dealt with through force. Or, I can even be the one fulfilling the justice...
Overall, I play DnD not so much for the killing of monsters (which I could turn to my video games for), not is it entirely for talking (no fun without a little plot and action), and it is not about the dice (which are there to structure chance) either. It is about a new factor entirely, the ability to place myself within a new world as a new person, and to walk in their shoes for a time...

I edited my first post to make it easier to know what each choice meant.

explanation
I finally voted.
I am all of the above, and challenge me (some). I enjoy blasting monsters apart, feeling the power of choking out the last of their imaginary life force. I also can exist and have fun in an entirely RP world, like a detective mission (which I did once, I think I was one of the only people enjoying it). Further, puzzles are always fun to try to solve (but sometimes they can be annoying *cough cough* lost mispelling his puzzle how many times? *cough cough*). I also just love the feel of playing DnD, and just being able to be a different character than myself, so I really fill all roles.
As for difficulty, it is sometimes fun to be able to rip through stuff, but how can you truly enjoy your character combos if your enemies fall like matchsticks? I tend not to like games where the PC's actually die, though, unless I have one of my super characters being fielded.
